Over the last 24 months Change Associates Trust (ChAT) has had the privilege of travelling around the country listening to grass-root community stakeholders discuss historical and current grievances, and their effect on our nation, including the PEV. What we have heard is best represented in the attached 'A Kenya for Kenyans' summary that was developed from 12 such forums. It explains what Kenyans feel is the problem, and what they, as Kenyans, believe is the way the future should be developed.

A primary desire out there is for a national process to define the truth, and a universally accepted structure that will help the country sort out the real issues from imagined grievances. This is because over time, and especially in the last three years, the history of Kenya has been written and rewritten, on the streets, in sitting rooms, on the media, on the internet, in public rallies, etc. Through all these medium most of Kenya
