 Former senior government officials who failed to appear before the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission after having been mentioned during the Northern Kenya public hearings, showed up for the hearings today.The 15 witnesses most of whom failed to honor the invitation to appear before the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commissions two weeks ago, had been given a two week reprieve to seek out required information from government records to better inform their testimony. They all appeared for the start of the hearings today at the NHIF Building Auditorium off Ngong Road. Lawyer Kioko Kilikumi representing all 15, said they had requested for the government files for that period but had yet to receive them. |
