|VALIDATION WORKSHOP ON APSEA|
Monday, 07 February 2011 10:14
Through the National Advocacy Programme for Governance Reforms (NAPGR), a project supported by USAID and Pact Kenya, the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA) is currently engaged in several activities that are geared towards supporting the successful implementation of the Constitution and the work of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC).
It is our belief at APSEA that the implementation of the Constitution must be done in accordance with both the letter and spirit of the majority of Kenyans who overwhelmingly voted for it. This therefore implores every citizen to remain vigilant and keenly monitor the process to ensure that the implementers of the Constitution remain on track. The future success of this country hinges on how we implement the Constitution in strict accordance with the provisions and timetables set within the Transitional Clauses of the Constitution.
In order to have meaningful engagement with the various stakeholders in the process, APSEA has recognized the importance of a structured approach and therefore contracted a public policy expert to prepare a policy document that will act as a guide not only to APSEA but professional bodies in general.
