Sophie is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). She is a holder of a Master of Banking and Finance Degree from Moi University having majored in Microfinance and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) Degree from the University of Nairobi.

Sophie is a member of the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK) which she also served as Chairperson and for which the Association awarded her a ‘Dedicated Leadership Award’. She has served and continues to serve in various Boards.  In recognition of distinguished services rendered to the nation, the President conferred her with the Honor of Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.).

Sophie currently chairs the Audit and Risk Management committee of Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) where she is a Trustee. She has in the past worked as Country Director, Finance and Administration Manager for an NGO, and Auditor and Accountant at Price Waterhouse. She has experience in governance, strategy formulation and implementation.

Sophie enjoys reading business and personal enrichment material, sharing financial advice, mentoring and giving services to needy causes especially in her area of expertise. Sophie is married and has two adult children.
