ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES IN EAST AFRICA

THE OFFICERS

The Officers of the Association are the Chairperson, the Senior Vice Chairperson, the Second Senior Vice Chairperson, the Honorary Secretary, the Honorary Treasurer, the Honorary Assistant Secretary, the Honorary Assistant Treasurer and other Additional Members. The Additional Members are the Convenors appointed to advice and assist in carrying out the mandates of the various committees.

THE COUNCIL

The new APSEA constitution came into effect in May, 2010. A new constitution is expected to come into effect in May 2010 during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The APSEA Constitution designates the Council as the highest decision making organ of the Association. The Council is made up of a representative from each of the 30 member societies and associations of APSEA. The Council meets quarterly and gives general policy guidelines for the operations of the Association.

THE COMMITTEES

The Association is organized into five thematic committees namely:  Professional Integrity and Ethics Committee (PIEC), Professional Development and Education Committee (PDEC),  Professional Business Development Committee (PBDC) and the Professional Resource Centre Committee (PRCC) and the Public Affairs Committee (PAC).

THE SECRETARIAT

The Association also has a Secretariat based at the Professional Centre on Parliament Road composed of an Executive Officer who is in charge of Administration/Programme activities, Accountant, Programmes Assistant, Project Assistant, Administrative/Membership Officer, IT Assistant, Office Assistants and the Hygiene Assistant.
